Onilne.co.uk was founded in April 2006 as an internet marketing resource aimed at the affiliate marketing arena.
The founder and CEO of Onilne is Keith Bond who has been working full time as an affiliate since October 2001, Keith created his first site around four years prior to that, a horse racing site that eventually evolved into System Betting.
Keith currently has over 30 websites in his portfolio, encompassing sport, finance, retail, clothing and travel, by far the busiest site is Football Team News. The two latest sites are both travel related and utilise the excellent booking engine provided by Leisure Direction they are Holiday Price Search and Ferry Price Search.
An active member on the popular UK affiliate marketing forum Affiliates4u, Keith also keeps an industry related blog.
So what exactly is Affiliate Marketing?
Those not involved with affiliate marketing often find it difficult to grasp what it is and how money can be made, affiliate marketers also can find it difficult to explain especially after a few pints of special brew.
So what exactly is Affiliate Marketing?
In layman’s terms, affiliate marketing is all about receiving a commission for making a sale, however it is all done via the Internet.
The affiliate marketer (affiliate) makes a deal with a company (merchant) where it is agreed that in return for the affiliate displaying some type of advertising which generates a visitor to the merchant website the merchant will pay the affiliate a fee providing the visitor completes the required action.
That required action might be:
- clicking on the link which takes the visitor to the merchant website this is known as Pay Per Click
- providing the merchant with information about themselves this is called Pay Per Lead
- making a purchase from the merchant website Pay Per Sale
